Mark your calendar; the Doggie Fun Zone is back!
May 4th through the 21st
Route 6 in Newtown, CT. (between exits 8 and 9 off I-84)
$12.00 – your dog can run the course twice.
Gift cards awarded daily for the fastest timed run for a large, medium, and small dog.
Great photo opportunities abound while each dog chases an elusive lure down straight-a-ways, around soft corners, jumps over, or crawls under various scaled down obstacles in our enclosed training yard.
Bring your show dog, couch dog, or best friend dog! They will all love the Doggie Fun Zone. This event requires no prior experience or training. Initially, the dog runs the course twice for a $12 fee. The first run is for experience while the second run is timed and posted. This fun filled, timed event is equally exciting for people as they watch all size and temperament dogs from Miniature Dachshunds to Rottweilers run the course.
With the cooperation of restaurants and businesses in the area, many prizes and gift certificates will be awarded daily for the fastest time based on size, as well as several additional categories. Daily winners will draw a ticket to determine their prize. Repeating winners will draw from a separate group of tickets. Repeating winners can also continue to lower their time for the overall fastest dog.
All proceeds will be donated to the Spay & Neuter Association of Newtown, the Danbury Animal Welfare Society and the Animal Welfare Society of New Milford.

The New York Times calls “DIRT” mordantly funny…a new weapon in the war against bad choices: laughter”.
Not a lecture or seminar, DIRT is a play of many characters all performed by one actor/comedian–John Morello. Having spent most of his life watching friends & family become victims of destructive decisions he responded by writing the one man show DIRT. With 15 years of stage experience, Morello comically & effortlessly slips in & out of the characters to tell a story which is compelling, unique & yet is unfortunately the story of far too many of our young people.
According to Morello, “Kids don’t need flashing lights, clichés & a circus production to connect with them. Like all of us they want honesty, respect & someone who is real.” DIRT addresses the core reasons for substance abuse such as self esteem, depression, & a desire to find a purpose in this often chaotic life. Audiences are sure to see someone they know or can relate to & it is this cathartic recognition that has been connecting with young people across the country.
RAFFLE: High school students who bring an adult will be eligible to win a kindle.
This request is regarding a local volunteer firefighter in Bethel, CT. One month after his wedding in October 2012, 33 year-old Justin Renda received the news that all people pray not to hear. He was diagnosed with an aggressive type of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Justin must undergo chemotherapy treatments for at least the next 11 months to treat this disease. These treatments are so aggressive that he will need to be admitted to Danbury Hospital for the entirety of each treatment.
Because of his chemotherapy schedule, he cannot work during this time and has had to take a leave of absence from his two jobs. In addition to his jobs, Justin is a dedicated volunteer firefighter/EMT for Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department and has been for over 15 years. He has worked his way up to the rank of captain and is currently a lieutenant there.
Family, friends, and loved ones, along with the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department, will be holding a benefit lunch/dinner on March 23, 2013 at the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 59 Stony Hill Road, Bethel, CT on Justin’s behalf. Today we are asking you/your establishment to help us make this event a success, as Justin and his new bride Vicki are encountering mounting medical and household bills.
A raffle is planned during this event in attempt to raise money for Justin and Vicki. We are hoping you will help support this couple by donating an item, gift card, gift basket, or the like from your establishment. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
EIN number for the Justin Renda Lymphoma Foundation is: 46-1518767
