YogaSpace brings yoga, meditation & more to new Stony Hill location
Got Yoga? Now, the best teachers and the premier yoga studio in the area will be right in your neighborhood! After 12 years at their current location on Federal Rd. in Brookfield, CT, YogaSpace will be moving to 78 Stony Hill Rd. (Redwood Plaza) on Rt. 6, across from Starbucks and the Big Y.
“We’re thrilled to be moving to a brand new space in a vibrant area and can’t wait to extend a warm welcome all of our new neighbors!”, says studio co-owner and Kripalu Yoga Teacher Gloria Owens. “We’re in the process of renovating and creating a true sanctuary for body, mind and spirit. In today’s crazy over-stimulated world, it’s important to create time & space to ‘unplug’ and re-fill your well from the inside out. After 20 years of practice, I can tell you from personal experience that yoga is one of the best means I know of to let go of stress, feel better in your body, and tap-in to your inner resources (like resiliency, stability, creativity, power and peace).”
YogaSpace hopes to open their doors in the new space sometime in late March or early April. Meanwhile, classes continue at the existing location at 777 Federal Rd. in Brookfield.
In fact, YogaSpace already offers a variety of classes with some of the best certified teachers in Northern Fairfield County, including ongoing beginner & intermediate classes, and specialty classes for men, seniors, pre-natal, restorative yoga, meditation and much more. You can see their current schedule and class offerings at www.yogaspace-ct.com. Add special events like uplifting concerts, inspirational workshops, nutritional programs and seasonal celebrations, as well as a holistic gift boutique with yoga gear, yoga clothes, unique jewelry, books, artisan and eco-friendly gifts… and you’ve got the perfect space & community to support a yoga practice and healthy lifestyle.
Never done yoga before? If you’ve been curious about yoga but are not sure where to start, YogaSpace has a number of Gentle, Basics and Introductory classes that will introduce you to yoga in a friendly, fun and non-competitive atmosphere. “There are so many different style of yoga, and beginners can sometimes get confused or overwhelmed”, says Gloria. ” Our teachers are skilled at introducing the fundamentals of traditional styles so that students can find what works for them”.
Ultimately the practice of yoga is more than the stretches and poses that you’ll find at the gym. It includes philosophy, meditation, energy awareness, lifestyle practices and an appreciation of the interconnectedness of nature, everything and everybody. YogaSpace is a true yoga school in that they offer the richness of varied styles and yoga traditions, while understanding that each person, each body, and each day is unique. “You’ll never find cookie-cutter classes here”, beams Gloria. “We pride ourselves on making an ancient practice accessible for contemporary lifestyles. Whether you’re a beginner or have been practicing for a while, you’ll find true support, guidance and inspiration here”.
